 ABOUT THE POSITION
Reports to: Speech-Language Pathologist
Hourly rate of pay: $19-22 per hour based on experience
Full-time or Part-time: Part-time (25-30 hours a week/12-15 hours at each school)

Qualifications: Applicant must hold an SLPA authorization from the Colorado

Interviews are site-based and not conducted by school district personnel.
Under supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA will complete a variety of tasks involving activities designed to improve communication skills with students who have been identified with speech and language disorders as well as other disabilities.

Job duties may include:
Follow and implement documented treatment plans or protocols based on IEP
Document student progress toward meeting established objectives and report the information to the SLP
Prepare therapy materials and/or equipment for use in therapy activities
Assist in maintaining student records, tallying data, preparing charts, records, graphs and reports.
Assist the SLP with speech screenings or assessments (without interpretation)
Manage time effectively and productively.
Maintain appropriate relationships with students, families, staff, and school administrators.
Respect the confidentiality of information pertaining to students and families.
Recognize own professional limitations and perform within boundaries of training and job responsibilities.

SPED Teacher – Moderate Needs

Job Description: Challenge to Excellence Charter School is in search of a part time 0.6 FTE Moderate Needs Teacher to work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays serving elementary special education students.  Moderate needs teachers are responsible for the provision of an individualized service delivery model that utilizes inclusive practices through a combination of special education support provided in and outside of the general education classroom environment.  Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding effective instruction, the assimilation of technology into the learning environment, and the ability to individualize instruction based on cognitive, social, emotional, and adaptive functioning. Applicants should have demonstrated knowledge of child development and behavior management in the setting of the general education classroom as well as a small group environment.  Applicants should have demonstrated effective case management skills, effective written and oral communication skills, in addition to knowledge and expertise with developing and maintaining IEPs. Applicants should also have the ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with school personnel, students, and parents. Applicants should be able to demonstrate understanding and empathy necessary for working with students and their families and have a demonstrated desire to function as a team member.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining complete and accurate records of student progress and development
  • Complete accurate testing to identify student needs
  • Schedule and run IEP meetings with school personnel and parents
  • Develop comprehensive Individual Educational Plans to appropriately identify all student needs
  • Utilize technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources to use for educational instruction, activities, and data tracking
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that facilitate learning and establish clear objectives for all learning activities
  • Work with classroom teachers to plan, organize and implement appropriate instruction in the learning environment to encourage students to meet their academic potential.  This includes consulting with teachers on the use of accommodations in the general education classroom
  • Participate in team, school, and parent meetings
  • Maintain effective methods to manage student behavior in and outside of the general education classroom.

Elementary Full Time Teaching Job

Challenge to Excellence Charter School is seeking an intermediate elementary teacher (full time) for the 2018-2019 School Year.

Qualifications: Colorado Initial or Professional Colorado Teaching License; B.A. or higher degree.

Job Description: All candidates will be required to teach a prescribed curriculum that includes Saxon Math and Imagine it! reading, utilizing both Paideia philosophy and technology immersion.  The successful applicant will also be required to administer i-READY and state mandated standardized tests, be able to use data gathered to drive instruction and be willing to work cohesively with both vertical and horizontal teaching teams in an ability grouped environment.  All candidates must have evidence through previous evaluations of teaching that indicates a high level of classroom management and planning. The successful candidate would be able to:

  • Align engaging, experiential based lessons with state standards
  • Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans
  • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration
  • be willing to work cohesively with both vertical and horizontal teaching teams
  • Differentiate lessons for students with learning plans
  • Integrate technology in instruction strategies

Responsible for supporting the Director and Assistant Director in supervising children in various programs and unstructured activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children in various settings.
  • Actively engage and interact with children during operating hours.
  • Execute program and/or enrichment activities.
  • Enforce individual site behavioral expectations.
