Counselor for Kindergarten – 8th Grade Full Time 

Job Description:

  • Designs and implements a school guidance curriculum
  • provides individual student planning, responsive services, and systems support
  • Works as a team member with school staff, parents, and the community to create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere whereby students can achieve academic success

The Qualified Applicant Will:

  • Understanding of unique and diverse challenges, both personally and developmentally that impact academic achievement of elementary and middle school students
  • Develop and promote good community relations among various community and school clientele  

Responsibilities:

  • Counsel students to help them understand and overcome personal, social or behavioral problems affecting their educational situation
  • Demonstrate age-appropriate counseling practices that meet academic, career, and personal/social needs
  • Support students in the successful transition from each grade level into the next phase
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
  • Counsel students to encourage and support academic achievement
  • Maintain community partnerships to support students and their families
  • Participate and lead in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills
  • Use available technology resources to enhance the school counseling practice and program
  • Customize counseling services to meet individual student and school needs
  • Other duties, as assigned

Certifications: Special Service Provider License – School Counseling – Colorado Dept. of Ed.    

Education:  Master’s Degree: Counseling

Educational Assistant for Mild to Moderate Needs for K-8 Students

POSITION SUMMARY: Challenge To Excellence is looking for an Educational Assistant for the Special Education Department.

 The successful candidate will be a positive member of a close-knit teaching team helping support students with an Individualized Education Plan. The qualified applicant should be able to:

  • perform tasks assigned by the Special Education Learning Specialists
  • assist General Education staff in the modification and accommodation of IEP students
  • possess strong reading and mathematics skills
  • be able to establish positive, collaborative relationships with school personnel and students
  • work with individuals and small groups for intensive instruction
  • assist in scheduling meetings
  • protect student confidentiality rights
  • demonstrate enthusiasm when working with students and professionalism with staff and families
  • assessment proctoring
  • Recess, lunchroom, and carpool supervision
  • Other duties as assigned

Child Care – Program Leader

Description

This is a part-time position from 2:45 p.m to 6:00 p.m during regular school days.

Responsible for supporting the Director and Assistant Director in supervising children in various programs and unstructured activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children in various settings.
  • Actively engage and interact with children during operating hours.
  • Execute program and/or enrichment activities.
  • Enforce individual site behavioral expectations.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of equipment and materials in the program.
  • Administer minor first aid.
  • Conduct daily processes and duties required for opening, closing, and/or transitioning between sessions.
  • May work with special needs children.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

First Aid & CPR Certification (We can get your certified/re-certified.); Experience with working with children in a school or day care setting. High school diploma or college degree.

Job: Before & After School Program

Primary Location: Challenge to Excellence Charter School

Organization: K-8

One Year Only: No

Salary

Starting in a $12.00 range but commensurate with candidate’s experience.

Scheduled Hours Per Week: 15 to 18

Days Per Year: 173
