EMPLOYMENT FAQ
Do teachers have to be licensed?
Not necessarily. Like most charter schools, C2E operates under a waiver with the state that allows us to hire teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds. This includes, but is not limited to, teachers from out of state, teachers with a lapsed Colorado certificate, individuals with several years of successful teaching experience in settings that did not require licensure, and professionals with relevant business or industry experience.
While a Colorado teaching license is not required for employment, candidates who are not currently licensed must meet one of the following content qualifications:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or higher) in the subject area of assignment; or
- Provide a college transcript documenting at least 36 semester credit hours aligned to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) endorsement worksheet in the subject area of assignment; or
- Earn a passing score on a State Board of Education–approved content exam (currently the ETS Praxis Series) in the subject area of assignment.
Regardless of licensure status, C2E seeks educators who demonstrate strong content knowledge and a commitment to effective instructional practice.
Do staff members’ children receive automatic admission?
Faculty members’ children receive an increased priority for admission after the siblings of current students.
Is on-site childcare provided?
Yes. Before- and after-school care is available through a partner service provider at a discounted rate.
